                                                Tjipta Niaga Building.
                                                                   located in Jakarta old town,
                                                Built in 1912, it was once the office of 
                                                  koloniale zee en brand asurantie maatschapij.
                                                                              a Dutch insurance company.
                                                                                The various style building 
                                                 was a mix of dutch and tropical Indische style,
                                              designed by Cuypers en Hulswit architecture firm.
                                                  Although the aging building is now abandoned,
                                                          it is often used for photography activity
                                                                due to its photogenic characteristic
                                                                                            and rustic beauty.
 



                                                 

Cut Mutiah Mosque.

                                This New Indies style building was built by a Dutch Architecture firm

'Peter Adriaan Jacobus Moojen', in 1922 .

Located in shady Menteng area, Jakarta,

 the building now is known as a Mosque,

named after an Indonesian heroine from Aceh,

Cut Nyak Meutiah. 

Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkartta.

 Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkartta is 

a Hindu Temple located 

in the slope of Mount Salak,

West Java.

Willemskerk.

a Palladian style church designed by J H Horst,

built by the Dutch between 1835-1839,

 located in Batavia/Jakarta.

Now, the church is well known as Immanuel church.

 

 

Wat Arun.

Fatahillah.

The Fatahillah museum,

a neo classic building, located in

Jakarta old town,

built in 1707-1710 as a city hall/stadhuis.

Wat Pho.

Bogor.

 Whenever we passed by Jl Suryakencana, a busy

business area in Bogor, I always charmed by this old building.

Located in Jl Suryakencana 210, this old house

was onced owned by Mr Tan Goan Piaw, 1825-1890,

who was a captain of Bogor Chinese community.

The beautiful Indische-Chinese architecture is well

preserved untill now without much changes.

Hope it will always be.

 

Manggar.

Manggar, a very small town in Eastern Belitong,

preserved many traditional simple modest coffee shops

on each of it's corner.

It's known as 'The town with 1001 coffee shops'.

 

De Vries.

Warenhuis De Vries,

grocery store, Bandoeng. A colonial Dutch heritage,

1909-1920. Architect, Edward Cuypers Hulswit.

Villa Isola.

A very beautiful art deco building located in Lembang,

North Bandung, was onced a hotel under Savoy Homann.

Completed in 1933 by Wolff Schoemaker, a Dutch architect

as a house for Dominique Willem Berretty, a Dutch

media tycoon.

Above the reception room, Berretty placed a placard

which written;

'M'I ISOLO E VIVO'

( I isolate myself and live)

He died  in a plane crash in Syria in December 1934.

He lived only a few months here.

Gereja Ayam.

In loving memory of my grandmother who always stopped

whenever passed this building and pointed to the

chicken figure at the roof top,

'look, a chicken' she mentioned. At that time I didn't

know what's so special about that, I would prefered

a real chicken instead.

It took me decades to realized it's beauty.

 

A beautiful Dutch Colonial Church located in

Pasar Baroe, Jakarta.

Komedie Gebouw.

A neo reinasence building build in 1821 in Weltevreden.

Was once known as theater Schouwburg Weltevreden, sometimes

named as Komedie Gebouw.

Maritime Museum.

Located in Sunda Kelapa harbour area, the museum was

installed inside the former Dutch East India-

Company warehouses. Constructed between 1652-1771.

Soenda Kelapa.

Soenda Kelapa, an old port of Jakarta, which

only accomodate wooden ships, known

as phinisi.  Established since 13th century.

Old Chinatown.

Glodok, chinatown of Jakarta, in the early days,

not so crowded as nowadays.

A building in Heeren Straat.

The building was the former district court house ,

now, transformed as a restaurant.

The Roman Catholic Kathedral Jakarta,

build between 1825-1830

by Antonius Dijkmans, in Neo Gothic style.
